About Me
My name is Jessica O’Brien, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in New York and New Jersey and a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor (CASAC) in New York. After graduating from Boston College School of Social Work, I dedicated myself to the addiction and mental health fields, where I have over 17 years of experience.
My clinical work has spanned a variety of settings, including adolescent and adult outpatient programs, intensive residential treatment, school-based prevention initiatives, court-based services, and recovery centers. I am a certified lead trainer in Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBISA) and Calm Every Storm. My training includes mindfulness-based stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and sociometrics for experiential and embodied work. I use these evidence-based practices to tailor care to each individual’s unique needs.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am passionate about training and education. Much of my work has also been to ensure that professionals in the field have access to evidence-based interventions, ethical standards, and best practices so we can collectively improve outcomes for those we serve.
